QR Reader X
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 August 2026
Effective date: 10 August 2026
Artissavvy ("Developer") takes the privacy of QR Reader X ("App") users seriously.
1. Summary
The App does not declare the INTERNET permission. There is therefore no path by which scanned or generated content could be transmitted anywhere, including to the Developer. The App contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK, and there are no user accounts.
2. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| CAMERA | Code detection. Camera frames are analysed on-device and are not stored. |
| VIBRATE | Haptic confirmation on a successful scan. Can be disabled in settings. |
| WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below) | Saving generated code images to the gallery. Not used on Android 10 and above. |
The App does not request location, contacts, microphone, or installed-app-list permissions.
3. Data stored on your device
The following is kept locally in app-private storage:
- History: content, format, origin (scanned or created), timestamp, and favourite flag for each code
- Settings: theme, language, vibration and beep, auto-copy, auto-open links, and whether history is saved
History can be disabled in settings, deleted individually or in full, and is removed when the App is uninstalled.
4. When data leaves the App
The following happen only when you explicitly choose them:
- Saving to the gallery: a generated code is written as a PNG.
- Sharing: the image or text you select is passed to an app you choose.
- Acting on a result: opening a link, dialling, sending mail or SMS, adding a contact or calendar event, opening maps — each hands data to another app you select. That app's own policy then applies.
- Clipboard: copy actions write to the system clipboard.
5. Notice about Android Backup
The App allows standard Android backup (allowBackup="true"). If you have enabled Google backup or device-transfer in your device settings, your app settings and scan history may be included in your own Google account backup.
This is an operating-system feature; the Developer cannot access that backup data. You can disable backup for this App in your device settings if you prefer.
6. Third parties
The App does not sell or share personal data. Code detection and generation are handled by on-device libraries (the ML Kit barcode model is bundled with the App and requires no network at runtime, and ZXing).
7. Children's privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. It transmits no personal information to any server.
8. Changes
This policy may be revised as laws, Google Play policies, or App features change. Significant changes will be announced in the App or the Google Play listing.
